The NASA Artemis program aims to return humans to the Moon's surface by 2028 and establish a permanent base on the Moon in the 2030s. The uncrewed Artemis I mission took its first step in November 2022. Now, the Artemis II mission (launched on April 1, 2026) has set off with four astronauts, including Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch, Victor Glover from NASA, and Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency, to fly around the Moon. Particularly, Reid Wiseman from the mission team captured stunning images of our Earth, the Moon, and space. These photos look great as wallpapers for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices. Here’s how you can download these images in original 4K or 8K quality.
Artemis II Wallpapers
Most of the photos you see here were taken with a Nikon D5 or Nikon Z 9. NASA has published these photos on its official website (Journey to the Moon) and Flickr account (NASA Johnson).
However, the images on NASA's website are not high quality and many are cropped to 1920 x 1280px size. Fortunately, I found the original quality images (up to 8256 x 5504px) on their Flickr accounts, and you can see them below. Still, I recommend checking NASA's website to see more images and read the photo descriptions.
Since these wallpapers are in original resolution, some may reach sizes between 6 MB and 14 MB, which may take a little time to load. If you open the "Download" button in a new tab, that specific wallpaper should load faster.
In addition to the wallpapers above, you may have also come across viral selfies taken by Reid Wiseman and Mission Specialist Christina Koch with the front camera of the iPhone 17 Pro Max (yes, free advertising for Apple!). They were taken with a beautiful view of the blue Earth outside the window. Not everyone may want to use these selfies as wallpapers, but I have added them for you to view.
